Nite Shift Online (Anomaly) is set in a strange veterinary hospital, where gamers are thrown into the maelstrom of nite shifts. What appears like an easy job of taking care of four legged "patients" suddenly turns into a nightmare when you find out that not all of the animals are... genuine animals.

Some species are affected by a mystery “Anomaly”, which can disguise themselves as adorable pups, but these are terrible monsters at heart. Your job is to find, treat and survive 99+ nites to learn the secrets of this hospital.

Balancing Hunting and Treatment

Nite Shift Online (Anomaly) is so good because it combines simulation, co-op and survival horror so well. The gameplay is centred around a high pressure loop:

• Reception and Examination: The patients will come to the reception window. This is the most important time. You can't trust your sight right away.
• Identifying ‘Anomalies’: Use of unique technologies such as instant cameras (polaroids) and security camera systems to hunt for anomalies. Some of the abnormalities will just show up on the camera lens, while others will display on the security screen. Please compare the live images to the photos and to the camera images.

Decision-Making

If any abnormality occurs, immediately reject the patient by closing the shutter. If they look okay, let them in and treat them.

Treatment and Survival

You have to look at what real patients have and then locate the right treatment. In the meantime, always keep an eye on your Sanity bar. Work under stress and this bar will slowly decrease. Have a coffee or a chocolate bar to cheer yourself up.

Who Are You at the Hospital?

The game has several classes to play for more tactical gaming and better chances of survival. Each class has different skills and roles on the squad.

• Surgeon: Specialises in intricate medical operations and caring for patients in critical conditions.
• Nurse: Provides health care for teammates, and first aid and patient triage.
• Security Guard: Monitors security camera system and is prepared to use heavy weapons to eliminate threats.
• Intern: The default character class for new players, providing a high starting Sanity ability.
• Other Special Classes: There are also roles such as Doctor, Head Nurse, Psychologist, Secret Agent... each class offers interesting gameplay and needs to be unlocked with in-game currency.

Game Modes

Multiplayer

This is the highlight that makes the game different. You can form teams of up to 30 people on the same online server. Cooperating to examine patients, identify anomalies and share resources improves your chances of surviving the nite. The chat feature allows players to warn each other and help each other out efficiently.
