Last Light

The sole indication that the system is still running may be a flickering light in a deep below laboratory. The path to the surface is a stressful fight for survival, with dark passageways, locked doors and twisted monsters all around. Last Light is a 2D zombie game that mixes shooting, exploring, resource gathering and defence construction. You can’t just shoot your way out of the research center. You must think your way out.

Discover the Seven Underground Levels and Escape

You can select one of three difficulty levels before you start: Easy, Normal or Hard. Each round will take you through a series of seven perilous levels where abandoned research rooms may yield currency, objects and cards to unlock new sections.

Exploration needs keen observation. Look for question mark icons, check the workbenches, and hunt for interactive things. Stairs and lifts connect floors, but they don’t necessarily take you to safety. If you don’t create an escape path, you can find yourself besieged by zombies hunting for resources.

Power Management and Zombie Defence

Electricity is a huge part of Last Light. Automatic doors, lighting and lifts are powered by electricity. When the system is overloaded sirens may sound and zombies may attack quickly. Before it is out of control, you must find the switches in the basement to bring back the electricity.

The daytime is an excellent time to gather items, explore the hallways and strengthen your foundation. When the clock strikes midnight waves of hostile mutant animals will pour in. You can use cannons to physically kill them or you can place automatic turrets at key areas. Vending machines can also serve as barriers, providing cover for tight corridors.

Weapon Upgrades and Defensive Structures

You can use coins from killed zombies and lab materials to upgrade damage of weapons, stats of characters and defensive constructions. Crucially, weapon proficiency and combat ability carry throughout numerous playthroughs, letting you start subsequent runs with an advantage.

Don't throw all your money into turrets in the beginning. Try to balance your individual strength with your defensive capabilities. A weapon that is strong enough to take on the foes that get beyond the barricades, and the obstacle system gives you a little extra time to react.

Survival Tips Last Light

• Defend narrow passages: Place turrets to thin out zombies at choke points before they get to sensitive locations.
• Power management: Watch your system and deal with overloaded switches immediately.
• Prepare before midnight: collect ammunition, build up barriers, inspect weapons before each attack.
• Sensible Upgrades: Focus on appropriate upgrades for the situation, not on spending all on one thing.

• WASD: Walk. Go up and down stairs.
• Right mouse button: Target the way you want to go.
• Fire: Left mouse button.
• R: Reload.
• E: Use Items.
• Step: Increase speed.

Last Light combines exploration, power management and timely battle to decide your survival. Every nite you complete you will get closer to leaving the zombie infested lab.
