Farflung turns simple geography questions into a globe map adventure. Instead of selecting A, B, C or D you've had to find the country in question and drop a pin on the map there. For every accurate response you'll be 500 km closer to your goal, however, the first thought that comes to mind may not be the one that gives the maximum score.
Each Farflung journey has five questions covering themes including countries, capitals, boundaries, languages and other geographical factors. If you are not sure where a country is, you can select it directly from the map or type the name of the country into the search box.
After you choose it, tap Drop Pin to save the answer. You only get to answer each question once, so think before you submit. After each round the notes will show which countries were accepted, so you can see the geographical links you might have overlooked.
This map does not include nation names, making it tougher to discover smaller countries or distant islands. But you may zoom in on the map or use the search option to look for places.

Farflung offers two major game modes to satisfy those who thrive under the pressure of time and those who prefer to take their time to explore.
Farflung scores are calculated based on a fixed distance covered for each level of answer rarity. A correct answer can earn you 40, 55, 70, 85, or 100 km. Incorrect answers, skipped questions, or running out of time will not earn you any distance.
It's important to note that these scores are based on editorial ratings of country familiarity, not direct statistics from other players. Therefore, you should research less-known countries instead of focusing solely on the well-known ones. Five correct answers at the highest level will help you reach the maximum of 500 km.
The Daily mode provides the same five questions for all players and refreshes at 00:00 UTC each day. If you want to continue immediately after completing one, you can select Unlimited to start a new trip. The question bank consists of 209 shuffled hints that are not repeated until the entire question bank is used up.
Farflung saves your highest score, completed trips, unfinished progress, and sound options directly in your current browser. Data does not automatically sync between devices and may be lost when you delete website data.
With unlabeled maps, a one-time answer limit, and questions requiring broad knowledge, Farflung is a suitable game to both test your geographical memory and explore countries you rarely pay attention to.
