Ant Flow is a puzzle game combining 3D pixel art, where colorful ants take turns dismantling blocks to reveal hidden images inside. Instead of racing against time, you need to observe the structure, choose the right ant color, and calculate the order of movement. The interesting part lies in the five-square waiting area: just a few ill-considered choices can cause the entire level to become deadlocked.
Each level begins with colorful ant boxes in the tray below, above which is a 3D pixel model assembled from square blocks. When you click on a box, you move it to an empty waiting area and release the corresponding ant colony. The ants will move to blocks of the same color that they can reach, then carry each block away to reveal the layers hidden beneath.
You cannot choose a color simply because it appears frequently on the screen. If the corresponding blocks remain buried under other layers, the ant box will occupy a waiting slot without being helpful. When all five slots are filled with unreleased choices, the level may fail.
Start by finding blocks with white circles, then match their colors to the ant boxes you have. Prioritize colors that can be cleared immediately to open the way for the next layers. Before each selection, ask yourself whether the new box can be processed quickly or will take up too much space. A helpful tip is to observe the colors appearing in multiple locations on the model. Clearing the right layer can open up multiple blocks at once, creating more options for subsequent selections. Conversely, consecutively selecting many inaccessible colors will quickly cause you to lose control.
When the layout gets more sophisticated, Ant Flow has some useful tools:
They should be used only in really tough conditions, when a lot of waiting slots are used or an important colour is unavailable.
Ant Flow introduces new progression mechanics. Level 8 introduces question mark blocks, level 12 introduces locked blocks, level 18 has a layout with two ant nest doors. These changes challenge you to adapt your observation and planning rather than repeating one method.
The system has hundreds of levels that revolve on diverse themes such as animals, fruits, cuisine, flowers, toys, rockets, castles, and festivals. As each layer is cleared the images that were initially covered become apparent. If you like puzzles that demand you to think carefully but don’t put you under the pressure of a countdown timer, Ant Flow is a good pick to test your observation, spatial management and planning skills at each step.
